Professional Standards of Conduct for Participation in Southern NV EFT's Community Events

Participant Standards of Professional Conduct

Southern Nevada Community for Emotionally Focused Therapy (SNVEFT) is committed to providing a professional, respectful, inclusive, and psychologically safe learning environment for all participants, trainers, volunteers, and staff.

By registering for and attending any SNVEFT hosted, sponsored or co-sponsored training events, workshop, conference, consultation group, or professional community social gathering, or educational event, participants agree to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with generally accepted legal, ethical, and professional standards applicable to the mental health professions. These standards include, but are not limited to, the ethical principles and standards of conduct established by applicable state licensing boards, including the Nevada Boards governing Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Professional Counseling, Social Work, and Psychology, as well as the professional codes of ethics of organizations such as the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), the American Counseling Association (ACA), the American Psychological Association (APA), the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), ICEEFT, and other relevant professional organizations.

These expectations apply to all attendees regardless of licensure status, professional discipline, employment setting, or stage of training.

Participants are expected to:

  • Treat all attendees, trainers, volunteers, and staff with professionalism, courtesy, and respect.

  • Follow trainer instructions and event guidelines.

  • Maintain appropriate interpersonal and professional boundaries.

  • Refrain from conduct that is disruptive, intimidating, harassing, discriminatory, or otherwise interferes with the learning experience of others.

  • Contribute to an environment that supports psychological safety, mutual respect, and effective learning.

SNVEFT reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to address conduct inconsistent with these expectations. Responses may include verbal coaching, behavioral expectations, removal from specific activities, dismissal from the event with or without refund as determined by the circumstances, denial of future participation in SNVEFT-sponsored or co-sponsored events, or other actions deemed necessary to protect the safety, integrity, and educational purpose of the learning environment.

By completing registration, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by these Standards of Professional Conduct as a condition of participation.
